As all of us would have already been aware of, the OMI missionary of Sri Lanka has been actively engaging in a great number of social and welfare activities all over the country for a long period of time. The collaboration between the missionary and the Noolaham Foundation on projects of similar interest has been effective from the past. The OMI missionary which already manages library in ‘Thodarpaham’ in Jaffna had been a source of a great number of document and educational wealth for the needs digitalization and the ‘Endangered Archive’ project undertaken by the Noolahm Foundation. Thereby there existed a good relationship between the Noolaham Foundation and the OMI missionary.

In this regard, as a part of its service to the society, the missionary had taken steps to open up a new library in Kilinochchi in the name of ‘Lebra Library’. The opening ceremony of the library was held on 16.02.2012 at ‘Annai Illam’ in Kilinochchi. The Noolaham Foundation had been invited to the event and member of the Library Science Advisory Committee of Noolaham Foundation Mrs.Imelda Karunakaran – Librarian, Jaffna Public Library, Director of Noolaham Foundation S. Seran, volunteers of Noolaham Foundation J. Ladeslous, S. Umadharan, T.Sinthusan took part at the event. The Noolaham Foundation at the function submitted digital documents to the Library on DVDs that consisted of a variety of documents belonging to periods before 1981 which have been archived. By similar joint ventures with non-profit organizations in the society, the Noolaham Foundation looks forward to extend its services and expand its productivity.
