The Tamil Students of Uva-Wellassa University organized free seminars in Science for the benefit of Tamil students who are sitting for the GCE (O/L) examinations in the Northern, Eastern and Central Provinces. The primary objective of these seminars was to improve the performance of the students in the examination. This programme was conducted in conjunction with the Pallikoodam project of Noolaham Foundation.

These seminars began on Thursday, the 10th of October 2013.The first two seminars were held at Vaitheeswara College and Senkuntha Hindu College in Jaffna. Sixty students from Vaitheeswara College and Vannarpannai Nawalar Vidyalaya participated in the Seminar conducted at Vaitheeswara College and about 65 Students from Senkuntha Hindu Vidiyalaya, Nallur G.T.M.S College and Nallur Mangaiyakarasi Central College took part in the seminars that were conducted at Senkuntha Hindu College. These seminars were conducted on Friday as well. On both days, the sessions started at 9.30 am and continued till 2.30 pm.

Similarly, there was a seminar conducted at Vavuniya Moonamurippu G.T.M.S School on Saturday and Sunday. It was attended by about 85 Students. There will be more seminars conducted from Tuesday onwards in the Jaffna district. More details about the Seminar could be obtained from http://www.seminarseries.net/
