Introduction of ‘Pallikoodam’ program at ‘Kurinchip Peravai’ event

An introduction of one of Noolaham Foundation’s program called ‘Pallikoodam’ at the Kurinchip Peravai event was held on 25th January 2014 at 10.30 am in Newberg Tamil Maha Vidyalaya, ‘Ella’- Village, Badulla. Principals, teachers, education departmental officers and a large number of O/L and A/L students from the schools in Badulla district gathered for the event. Mr. S. Seran, Mr. S. Shanmugapriyan, Mr. D. Senthilnathan, Mr. T. Nanthakumar and Mr. G. Jasandan were present for this event representing Noolaham Foundation.

Mr. S. Seran, Director addressed on introduction to Noolaham Foundation, achievements and results. Further Mr. S. Shanmugapriyan spoke about the four major objectives of Noolaham Foundation and on how students and teachers can contribute towards these objectives. Mr. T. Nanthakumar explained about the ‘Pallikoodam’ project, its future goals, creating user ID for the virtual learning website, the usage of virtual learning environments, access to those websites based on ‘moodle’ technology, downloading study materials from the website and about the contribution of students as well as the teachers to this site.

The TDC book, ‘Tamil Documentation Conference 2013 – Aaivuk Katturai Kovai’ and a CD consisting nearly 70 up-country documents that have been digitized and archived by Noolaham Foundation were handed over to the principal of Badulla Newberg Tamil Maha Vidyalaya, Mr. Rajamanikkam. The principal mentioned in his address that Noolaham Foundation is carrying out such a pronounced project like ‘Pallikoodam’ and helping out the poor and vulnerable students. He also remarked that most of the schools in Badulla have facilities for internet access and quite a good number of students have mobile access to internet, hence it will be a great support for these students to make available their course materials, pilot and model exam papers, question banks and more related study materials. Another copy of TDC book was handed over to Mr. M. Thilagar (Malliyapusanthy) for his great support in organizing the meetings in up-country and contribution towards the up-country documentation.
