நூலக நிறுவனம் 1900 க்கு முன் இலங்கையில் வெளிவந்த தமிழ் பேசும் சமூகங்கள் தொடர்பான ஆக்கங்களைப் பட்டியலிட்டு, பாதுகாத்து, அணுக்கப்படுத்துவதை முன்னெடுப்பதற்காக "முன்னோர் ஆவணகம்" செயற்திட்டத்தை முன்னெடுக்கிறது. அண்மைக் காலமாக இலங்கையில் வெளியிடப்பட்ட பல படைப்புகள், படைப்புகள் பற்றிய தகவல்கள் archive.org, hathitrust.org போன்ற செயற்திட்டங்கள் ஊடாக பொதுவில் கிடைக்கத் தொடங்கியுள்ளன. மேலும், நூலக நிறுவனம் பங்கெடுத்த " யாழ்ப்பாண புரட்டஸ்தாந்து டிஜிட்டல் நூலகம்" (jaffnapdl.org) ஆகியவற்றினுடாக 1900 க்கு முன்னைய ஆவணங்களை இருங்கிணைத்தலாக இச்செயற்றிட்டம் மேற்கொள்ளப்படுகிறது.

Noolaham Foundation has undertaken an initiative called “Old Documents Related to the Tamil-speaking Communities” in order to catalogue, preserve and provide access to documents about the Tamil speaking communities in Sri Lanka published before 1900. Initiatives such archive.org and hathitrust.org have made available in the public domain publications from Sri Lanka and information about those publications. The Jaffna Protestant Digital Library that Noolaham collaborated with another group provided a catalyst to this initiative.
