Details

The Noolaham::England formation meeting was held at London Sivan Kovil Hall, Lewisham on Friday 17th of June 2011 at 8 pm. The meeting was organized by Srisabesan Nagalingam.

More than 25 Noolaham contributors and well wishers were invited to discuss the formation of Noolaham::England. The meeting was attended by Srisabesan Nagalingam, Sivakumar Balasubramaniam, Manitharsha Sivakumar, Atchuthan Sivakumar, Sathiyajith Suntharamorthy, Manivannan Krish, N. Satchithananthan, Gengatharan Nagalingam, Charles Antonidas, Rathina Iyer, Pathmanaba Iyer, P. Rajanayagam, Chinniah Rajeshkumar (Ragavan), J. Bharaneetharan, Joy Poornachandran and Shaseevan Ganeshananthan.

The meeting was chaired by Srisabesan Nagalingam and began with self-introductions of attendees. Rathina Iyer and Pathmanaba Iyer spoke about the history of Project Noolaham and Noolaham Foundations. Pathmanaba Iyer also outlined Noolaham's problems and needs in detail and spoke about the history of fund raising activities.

Then the Chief Executive Director of Noolaham Foundation Shaseevan Ganeshananthan spoke about Noolaham's final picture. He spoke about relationship of power and knowledge, creating knowledge of Srilankan Tamil speaking communities, gathering of various information, building a virtual network via information and how to prepare for a knowledge based society. He spoke about Noolaham Foundation's structure, Noolaham Foundation's Transparency, Noolaham Regional Task Force, Noolaham Global task Force and other Noolaham structures.

Sarinihar Sivakumar shared his experience with Noolaham. He spoke about the needs of digital libraries for a journalist. Then Charles Antonidas and Joy Poornachandran were asked some questions about Noolaham activities which was replied by Shaseevan Ganeshananthan.

Later, discussions were held about registering Noolaham in England and starting activities in England. The following seven members were selected for the starting committee.
