Details

Department of Computer Science-University of Jaffna and University of Colombo School of Computing have collaborated with Noolaham foundation for the trial assessment of the ‘Tamil OCR’ (Tamil Optical Character Recognition) Project.

The discussion was conducted on the 4th July 2013 at the office of the foundation. Dr. E.Y. A. Charles the Head of Department of Computer Science-University of Jaffna and K. Sarveswaran, Lecturer of Department of Computer Science-University of Jaffna participated in the discussion, which was attended by the Noolaham Foundation Director Seran Sivananthamoorthy , Sureshkumar Kanthasamy (Program Coordinator, Pallikoodam) and Balachandran Sanjith (Student, Computer Engineering, University of Moratuwa).

Further, the features of Tamil OCR were explained to Noolaham foundation members. In addition, the Techniques of handling the documentation were also discussed in detail.
