Dr. Selvy Thiruchandran is one of the Patron of Noolaham Foundation. She has served in the Noolaham Foundation advisory board since the foundation was established and she contribued to the collaboration activities.

She was born in 1940 at Jaffna, Sri Lanka. Dr Selvy Thiruchandran obtained her B.A. Degree from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, Masters Degree and Ph.D. from the Netherlands. She pursued her doctorial studies at Vrije University of Amsterdam.

She is the Executive Director of the Women’s Education and Research Centre (WERC), Colombo, Sri Lanka. She is the Lecturer and Fellow of the Faculty of Graduate Studies MA Programme, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, Fellowship of the Centre for Women’s Studies and Gender Relations at the University of British Columbia. Her research interests include Women’s Studies. She is the author of books in English and Tamil on Women’s Studies from both Sociological and Anthropological disciplines.

She is located in Colombo, Srilanka.
