Model Exam for Advanced Level Tamil Students in 2014” – An agreement Event of Collaboration

‘Pallikoodam’ program team of Noolaham Foundation and a group of volunteers Tamil engineering students, batch of 2016 signed an agreement of collaboration with Noolaham Foundation on 5th of July 2014. On behalf of Noolaham Foundation, this agreement was signed off by Mr. T. Nanthakumaran (‘Pallikoodam’ program coordinator), Mr. K. Sureshkumar (Team lead, Technology), and Mr. S. Seran, Director, Noolaham Foundation, and students team was represented by Mr. N. Nirojan (Secretary, Examination organizing committee, Civil Engineering Society, University of Moratuwa) and Mr. B. Sivarajan (Exam coordinator, Civil Engineering Society, University of Moratuwa).
The main objective of this collaboration is to enhance the knowledge and competencies of nearly 5,000 Tamil students for upcoming Advanced Level examination in August 2014 in the stream of Mathematics and Bio Science. This model exam will be held from 28th of June 2014 until 13th of July 2014 at 30 centers in 10 districts. Results, z - score and ranks will be released on 26th of July 2014, and corrected papers will be given back to them on the same week.
This model exam is a series of annual programs, and Tamil students of University of Moratuwa, staff from zonal education office, teachers and students are expected to participate. Through this project, we aim to increase volunteer contribution of undergraduate towards the social development activities and with Noolaham Foundation, introduce the virtual learning environment (www.epallikoodam.org) of Noolaham Foundation to the targeted beneficiaries, documentation of relevant study materials and reports and make them available in the website, build network and link with the relevant stakeholders and beneficiaries, and make them exposed to knowledge sharing services.
