Ashani Arulananthan is the Communication and Public Relation Associate of the Noolaham Foundation. She is the keyperson who responsible for the communication and public relation, preparing &designing publications and website uploads of the foundation activities.

Maaviddapuram, Jaffna is her birth place. She has successfully completed her graduate studies on Aquatic Resources Technology (B.Sc) degree programme in Uva Wellassa University, Badulla. Her internship in Biotechnology was accomplished at GENETECH in Borella, Colombo. She has worked on a research project in Industrial Technology of Institute (ITI), under Biotechnology unit on Antimicrobial Activity of Selected Marine Plants in the South West Coast of Sri Lanka. Her preliminary findings on this research were published in the National Aquatic Resources Development Agency (NARA). As well as another part of this research was promulgated in the Uva Wellassa University Research Symposium 2013 as Antimicrobial Activity of Seagrass ( Cymodoceae serrulata) in the South West Coast of Sri Lanka.

Currently, as a research fellow in the University of Jaffna, she has initiated research studies on the coral reefs and marine algae around the Jaffna Peninsula for better and innovative footpath to value add the local resources.
