This project was conducted in 2019 with the view to documenting textual materials found in the schools in Jaffna as part of Noolaham’s initiative to document institutions associated with the Tamil speaking communities in Sri Lanka. Under this project, annual souvenirs published by the schools, special magazines, minutes of the meetings of alumni associations and special publications issued by the schools were documented. The project was designed in such a way that it could bring out the importance of these documents, help the development of the schools and support those who are engaged in historical research about educational institutions. Rather than focusing on specific schools, all the schools in the districts were contacted for this project. This project laid the foundation for future projects that can take forward the task of documenting schools in broader manner.
